Favorite rangefinder-related magazines?

As an English photographer I have been watching this thread with some interest,....

I think the reason that Uk mags are interesting to US readers is that while they are in a common language they are from/of a very different culture,.....Also, its true that the better Uk mags like 'B&W Photog.' are aimed at keen enthusiasts and since photo gear is at least twice the actual prices of the US (plus lower standard of living), these people tend to be the more moneyed types who are usually better educated and more intelligent. Additionally, it may just be that 'the grass is greener on the other side of the fence'!! Me?,..well of course I prefer the good US mags like 'Camera Arts' and 'Lenswork'!

I used to subscribe to Pop Photo but now I only buy it if there is something interesting in it. I read Shutterbug pretty regularly for Roger Hick's and Ms. Schultz's articles. I read View Camera and Camera Arts(pub by the same folks I think) for the images. Lenswork is hard to find locally but I enjoy it when I can find it. Amature Photographer is also on my buy it when I find it list.
Thanks for the other magazines you people have named!

Anyone get this? I have subscribed, but not gotten any issues...

I am a subscriber to Rangefinder. It's usually just a bunch of worthless fluff about wedding and portrait snapping. however, I just received the latest edition, and it's much better than usual. A lot of travel stuff.

However, Lenswork, is a must read and own publication. Also, Brooks Jensen's new book, "Letting Go Of The Camera" is great!

I'm really surprised that no-one else mentions Ag magazine! What's with that? :) Has no-one read it? It's not too expensive and has wonderful articles, and no gear talk, thankyouverymuch.

For those interested, check out http://www.ag-photo.co.uk .

Indeed it was I. :)

Now, don't let me hanging here and be the only one who's heard of and read this magazine.

Russ, I don't know. I get it send by mail. I suspect it's a rather small publication, so I doubt it's generally available at news stands, especially outside the UK.

Rob, I looked at the latest copy of "Shutterbug" the other night and Hick's column caught my eye. He seems very forthright in his opinions and doesn't sugarcoat them much at all. There used to be a couple of writers 30 years ago or more who told it "like it was" but they were the exception. One of my major gripes with both "Popular Photography" and "Modern Photography" was their "We like everything" articles. It was rare for them to be critical and I always suspected that they feared losing advertising if they found fault with anything.

The book is $2 cheaper than a pdf file on cd?! How on Earth is that possible?

I don't know why. However, I highly recommend it. Are you considering it? It's a very good one.

Russ, can you tell me what to expect? I've never heard of Brooks Jensen, and anyone can write a few non-essential essays, bundle them and sell them as a book. :)
