favourite 28mm lens

Below is an image I made while walking to dinner on a recent visit to Boston (CV 28mm 3.5 wide open at 1 sec). The two in the pic are my hosts that first evening. I think we were by the Christian Science Complex...please correct me if I am mistaken.

I really like this lens. I just got it from a close friend who had a black one and a chrome one so I had to get one for my iiia. It compliments the 50 Elmar really well and the brightline finder is superb.

This is my first attmept to post a shot on this forum....I hope I get it right.

I've thought about a 28mm for my Bessa R (so I don't have to slog my SLR around) and the Skopar sounds great. Being an eyeglass wearer, though, I have some trouble with the 35mm framelines so I'm a little concerned about framing the shot. Does anybody else have that issue and if so, how do you get around it without using an external VF?
Hi DougK -- I admit to taking the easy way out by using both the Skopar and Summicron on my CLE which has 28mm frames with even some space around the outsides. Folks with a Hexar RF or M Leica with .58x finder would see about the same. Or the new Zeiss Ikon. And of course the Contax G easily handles 28mm in its viewfinder too.

Sorry that doesn't answer the question for Bessa R users...

Really an excellent shot! I like the visual similarity between the moon/clouds and the top of the building to the left. You must have asked the couple to stand still for you... 🙂

Thanks Doug,

I did suggest that rather than a traditional pose that they could just stand facing the tower, or simply hang out in the foreground without paying me any mind. I did expose a frame of the same without them....this is better. 🙂
And yes it was an interesting walk what with the clouds and moon that night.

Of course I should quit while ahead but here is one from the hotel room (25 floors up). Actually my Nikon 5400 (which also sports a 28mm equivilent focal length) did really well shooting out the little opening window. Nonetheless here is one shot with the CV28. The morning light across to the river was nice to wake up to.
