Some of my favourites are (apart from the great photographers here):
Will McBride (very controversial but his images are awesome)
Sally Mann
Cheryl Jacobs
Max Dupain
Ansel Adams
Frank Hurley
Ken Duncan
Matt Needham
Nicole Boenig-McGrade
Simone Hanckel
Some of those photographers are members of another forum I am a member of. There are many great photographers out there, many who have not come to the publics eye yet.

Out of the limelight
The fame here in Spain is difficult. Because the spanish always value better the external influeces: in art, in sports, in culture, in all ...
I love the humanistic photography of the 30´s, 40´s, 50´s. I prefer the europe photography over the american.
But appart the american master and europe master of photography, I want present other names of spanish photographs, maybe strangers outside Spain...
Ramon Masats
Luis Baylon
Cristina Garcia Rodero
Chema Madoz
Alberto Garcia Alix
Oriol Maspons
Xavier Miserachs
Agusti Centelles

I think Ansel Adams and the other great technicians of landscape photography did a great job but I dont find the pictures very interesting

Just saw Sally Mann's work for the first time. Unbelievably beautiful, powerful, unique, very very rich, dreamy, a magnification of all HCB and Ansel Adams could have hoped to be. A combination.
Her photos transcend their two dimensions. Really, I can't say much more than "wow".

I quite like Martin Parr (http://www.martinparr.com/) and living in Australia for the last two years, I discovered Bill Henson (http://www.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/sub/billhenson/index.html).
They are both very different photographers, but I enjoy love both of there work. Martin Parr can make you laugh, and Bill Henson, well,... he really connects with his subjects. Some of his images are haunting, some can make you sad, and others... uncomfortable.

Only had 2! Richard Avedon and Ansel Adams. Back in the 60's i had a commercial photo lab doing industrial photography. I had a 40 x 50 Brown horizontal camera with a 25' bed and of course a 40 x 50 negative capability. I always dreamed of putting this camera on the back of a flatbed and touring the country shooting landscapes with this camera. Even though it was basically for lith film i did do some product photography with and the images were incredible!

I see no one has mentioned me.
I'm hurt. I'm my favorite photographer.
Oh, I also like Meatyard, Rössler, Sudek, Jaromír Funke, and František Drtikol. Aside from Meatyard, I think only the Czechs had it going on. Everything else is derivative and boring.
