Favourite/regular travel destination

Is there a place that you like to regularly visit every year ? A favourite perhaps or a ritual of going back somewhere or even simply a regular trip back home, wherever that may be ?

London. I find myself there for work about 1-2 times a year. Never gets boring.

we're fortunate enough to live an hour away from the Canadian Rockies so what we crave for is the sun, sand and beaches.

Hawaii is our go to, if I'm craving for cities then NYC or Europe.

Depends how much money I have.

India is probably top of the list, followed by Malta, followed (in no particular order) by Greece, Portugal, Spain...

That's not counting Arles, of course, where I've been going to the opening week of the Rencontres for many years: I just got back on Sunday.

It doesn't matter much where I live: a change is always welcome. I've lived in several "holiday destinations" including Malta, Bermuda and the Central Californian Coast, and even I suppose London. The village in which I (rural France) will be jammed with holidaymakers in August. You can get used to anywhere, and reputedly both manna and ambrosia pall after a while.

Not every year, but a personal favorite is Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. We go there whenever we can.

London. Too many personal loose ends/extended family/financial stuff make it so that I have to visit for a few days every year. Love the city but it's changing fast. Or I'm getting older. Or both😀

Every year it's Cannon Beach, OR in the spring and Glacier National Park in the summer.

Just got back from GNP and making plans for a longer trip for next year to include Yellowstone and surrounding area.

Rio de Janeiro. 25+ visits. Every time i think about going somewhere else, i always decide i'd still rather go to Rio again.

Eventually, i'll get back to Italy — love Florence and Rome.
Thailand is on the list. Tibet, Nepal.... Colombia. Bolivia for the photographic opportunities....

Both my wife and I were born and raised in the Philippines, so in recent years we have started a little tradition to visit every couple of years. In addition to spending time with family and seeing parts of the country that we've never seen before, we also use the Philippines as a hub to visit other Asian countries -- last year it was Japan; this year, Vietnam and Cambodia.

BTW, my wife and I could keep going back to Japan and never get tired of it.

Every Christmas I cross to New Zealand from Oz to go hiking or tramping as they call it over there. Nearly always leave Boxing Day and come home middle January. My destinations are all in the South Island's National Parks. This year I'm heading to Nelson Lakes NP in the north of the island to do a 10-14 east west traverse through the park before tracking south to Lewis Pass (for those who know the place). Nearly all of this is through remote untracked but incredibly beautiful country. (I've done umpteen trips through here over the years). Love Nelson Lakes and for some unknown reason most trampers give it a miss (thankfully) probably because the walks there aren't named.

I generally take one decent day vacation - 5 or 6 days - a year.

Our main reoccurring trips are LA (if I have time off in the early spring and want better weather than we have around here) and NYC. Last year we added a trip to visit family in northern California and this year we'll be visiting my wife's family in the UK.

We want to travel with a wider range of areas but in the end tend to visit the places we know we enjoy. Its hard to take risks with travel when you do it so frequently. The Grand Canon, Arizona and New Orleans are on our travel list though.

Anyway, I usually plan for one out of country travel each year. I don't usually go back to places I've been to but the exception are: Japan and Vietnam.

Otherwise I just explore local travel destinations because we have so much to see here.

Last time we were there was 2013 (pre Yolanda and Bohol earth quake) and we went to Bohol and El Nido.
Lots to see and explore there for sure, we are hoping to go see Coron, Cebu City next year, and maybe northern Philippines.
We've never been to Baguio and Boracay either except when we were kids.

We are also thinking of visiting Ilocos (both our moms are Ilocano), heard so much about Vigan City and Pagudpud beach.

Every year my wife and I try to make it to Big Sur, CA and the surrounding cities (Monterey, Carmel by the Sea, San Luis Obispo) at least for a few days. Would love to be able to just live in that area. One can always dream!
