It is a great lens. I use one with an adapter on a Canon 5D and the portraiture results are fantastic.

I used Fuji Superior 400 or Walgreens 400 (same film) and then I removed in some images the color via PS . Glad you like it.

The Nikon FE2 and 105mm Nikkor used to be my favorite kit in the '80s. I recently (2 years ago) bought an FM3n that I like to use with this lens. It's a great lens for portraits. Unfortunately, my aging vision makes it hard for me to focus a matte slr screen, one of the reasons I've transitioned to rf cameras. But I do miss the 105.
In the above photos, the black and white versions work best for me.

The Nikkor 105/2.5 Ai is one of my favorite SLR lenses

It is a very capable lens at an affordable cost. I used to have only the SLR version of this lens, buit last year I added the RF version in LTM.
