As I've been learning large format, one of the "eventually" things has been my plan to get a 4x5 enlarger.

I just recently returned to work after a longer hiatus than I planned and so some stuff has been on hold until I have some disposable income again.

I've been sporadically looking on line to try to get a sense of how much LF enlargers are selling for so that I could figure out a budget. For the last 6 or 7 months there have only been 35mm/120 sized enlargers. For wildly varying prices.

But then yesterday, I had a bit of free time and was casually looking at Craig's List and somebody relatively close to me--maybe an hour or so away--has this ad up:
https://ithaca.craigslist.org/pho/6585283582.html
4 Omega D2 enlargers for $225 OBO. And I have no cash to spare for these.

Given the description of the for as basically all incomplete in various ways, I've been trying to convince my self that "these are not the D2s you've been looking for." :)

For this kind of frustration in my hobby, I may as well take up golf. :D

Thanks for letting me vent a little!

There's no negative carriers. It sounds doubtful that you would achieve one working enlarger even combining bits and pieces from all four. I would say you are better off letting this "bargain" pass.

Sid,
I agree but maybe for slightly different reasons: I don't think there's enough info to really say whether the four of them have the potential to be cannibalized to get one working one. And the lack of negative carriers isn't a major problem, D2 carriers seem pretty easy to find in the basic sizes. But the missing condenser lenses would be worrisome if I were seriously shopping.
