Featured Photo gallery and photo ratings

as time marches on, and more photos pass through the hallowed Featured Photo slot, I think it would be nice to have a gallery where they can be transferred to for posterity sake

also, I don't think the "Rate My Photo" gallery is very successful.. not that I'm against the idea, but I think we as individuals are too polite to try and quantify someone else's work.. and many of us either don't think to upload photos there, or choose not to for personal reasons.. is this gallery doing anything for you guys?

I don't think a numerical system is very positive. If I feel driven to comment on a picture that I don't think is so good (which I'm reluctant to unless asked) I would try to offer some tactful help not give it 2/10

I think a featured photo gallery is an excellent idea - how about some other themed galleries a well? say for low light work street photography or landscapes?

I think it shows a lot of potential, but it needs some guidelines. Seems like it started out OK, but now it's almost to 5 pages. In every photo critique I've ever participated in you put your pictures up, get critiqued and you pull them down. I don't mind the numerical rating, as long as it is accompanied by something constructive, and the rating numbers actually mean the same thing to everybody participating.
