Pennsylvania February Get-together

Yes, it's not every camera group with that many folks interested in swapping our dead gas engines for new turbo diesels. A great time was had for sure. We need to do it again in March to put the final touches on the April 16th meet where we get to meet Paul and Raid and the other great folks who'll be there. Can't Wait! John W

Okay, guys,

I will let you all pick the date and location of the next meeting! I am wide open and the calendar looks pretty clean for me so start discussing when you have time!;)

So good to see this group taking off. You guys eyeballed a M9:eek: Heck...I've never even touched a Leica M anything...maybe I shouldn't. ;) I am interested in seeing Paul's R2m, being a Bessa R shooter!:)

Dave:

I liked the congeniality of Manuel's place, as well as their Brunswick stew, now that I know how to get there, and with David's knowledge of the area we could probably meet there before the usual lunch crowd and then head to the rail yard or any other cool place he knows about for some afternoon lighting. My $.02. John

Hey John--sounds great to me, too.
The Yuengling was cold and the burger was great!!
Or--we could meet at DaveD's very fav--very nearby--the Yacht club--and catch some of those cuties selling cupcakes--for charity, of course! :)
Ot there's the Flying Biscuit really close by--and if you haven't been to Little Five Points recently--( a few blocks from Manuel's)--we could catch the fellow with the snake...etc etc
We've got PLENTY of venues near Manuels'...
Greg Hill--come on down!! We'd love to meet you.
Paulfish--see what you are missing?? Get well soon!

"Wonderful" image with taken with my M9 by our waitress at Manuel's Tavern. Oh well, she gave it her best, I guess. Taken at ISO 640 and f/2.8 and prefocused, but I think the shutter speed was too slow for her. She better stick with point and shoots.

Left to right, John Wilson, Dave Lackey, Sam Johnson, David Dearborn, Paul Beavin.

Ha! :p I noticed that she had quite a bit of movement when releasing the shutter. Must not know how to use just her finger! Got to use a little body English for some reason. But, she was a good sport.

E Gads! I've been called many things, but "harmless", I don't know about that. Definitely a good group of folks, though. I hope we see more of you next month, and lots of you at the big gathering on April 16th. It sounds like the show and tell and gear swap at David's is going to be the biggest thing other than the sidewalk sales at Wing's in N. Atlanta. Lots of fun to be had, I'm sure. JW

Hey Sam--thanks for posting the picture!
I'd bet the waitress would have been even more shaky had she known the value of the camera she was holding!
It IS a great group--and all are welcome.
Thanks again Sam.
