New York February NYC Meet-Up/ Eighth Annual Camera Beauty Contest

Cal,

This past year was very generous to me as far as trading is concerned. I have traded extensively with local camera dealers. No money exchanged hands, just gear. I have acquired several very nice cameras and lenses, including Widelux F7 and Nikon F with plain prism. I have traded my Hasselblad for 6cm f/1.5 Sonnar in LTM(SPOILER ALERT). I disassembled it partially, cleaned, collimated and adjusted rangefinder cam to focus properly on my M4, which my wife bought for me on my 40th birthday last March. This lens is a source of much controversy. It is said, that it was made aftermarket, but nobody knows for sure. It does not say Zeiss on beauty ring and serial number is wrong, but it I think it is a much rarer item than Hasselblad 500C, which I can always buy again.

I will bring it to the meet-up.

Sam,

First off your wife has to be really cool, and that 6cm F1.5 Sonnar is my kinda lens: crazy.

Anyways you are a legend. Anyways good to know that I'm not the only day-trader in our group.

Anyways crazy is good and you are always a big part of this annual event, just be aware there is a sniper in our group.

Cal,

Thanks for heads-up about the competition. I consider myself to be the original vintage camera enthusiast of our group, even though I only appear once a year, like 4th of July. I would be very glad to see a "disciple" of sort join us, since I like being surprised seeing cameras and lenses I haven't seen.

Apparently, craziness is contagious, but not fatal.

P.S. My wife is very cool and understanding, to the point. ;)

So I am taking off of work next Thursday and Friday, and know that NYC Fashion Week prime time next week will be Thursday through Sunday. I'll enjoy a Leica 24mm-90mm SL zoom with image stabilization and autofocus.

I haven't been this stoked out for shooting like this in a long time, and I expect all kinds of surprises.

I am also so glad that somehow the February Meet-Up was made on a date that offered no conflict or stress. How did that happen?

Anyways should be another great "Camera Circus." LOL.

Sam,

Any woman that can put up with me is a keeper. LOL. The sleeper among us has some serious cameras that I will drool over. In that manner he is like you but a bit different. Like I said beware of the quiet ones.

I think craziness is a progressive disease, but it does not have to end badly. LOL. Glad me and my friends are not ordinary.

Nothing like a cool and rare camera, but what is best is a bunch of them. Of course the best part are the stories that go with the camera. This is what rules the mob.

Good, I'm so happy to make the camera geeks roll their eyes! Sam, that's about all that may be useful for... ;)
