If you find no more than 5 holes and what you find are tiny and far apart, patching them with black cloth paint will likely solve the problem. I said "no more than 5" since more holes is an indication of a deteriorating shutter cloth and no patching will ever make the situation better for a shutter in such a condition.
A deteriorating shutter will have its vulcanised coating dried and cracking. It will be imperative to have the shutter cloth replaced. Patching will make the cloth heavier and thicker. More weight and mass will make the shutter travel with more difficulty.

I've replaced the curtains of my Fed 1 with the ones from a Canon A1. I kindly asked for old curtains at a local camera repair shop. The cloth is much thinner and smoother than the orginal ones.
