Fed 1 squeaky shutter

Hey there,

I have a fed one and I was wanting to know about the shutter, when ever i trigger the shutter it will either click (like it is intended to at bulb 25, 100, and 500 when held in the horizontal and vertical (except at 25) position) or will make a loud SQUEAK.

What can I do to get rid of this squeak.

Dear Kyle,

First of all, congrats with your Fed 🙂

There are many cloth shutter camera's which do Sqeeak. I have a Canon A1 which does the same. This appears when several lubricants have dried out, and the drums and parts of the shutter mechanism 'bounce' in their axes.
The best way to get rid of it is to have it properly serviced.

Hard to be sure without hearing it but a squeak is common when the shutter tension rollers are in need of lubricating. I've heard it on several FSUs and cured it by a CLA.
