I recently bought one of these interesting old lenses, hoping to use it on my recently-acquired Fed C. I noticed that the focusing cam is way off when put on the FED-C, which I believe did not have a standardized lensmount to film plane distance. I then put it on a more modern Zorki which does couple properly, and it's still off, except not so much. Any advice on how I can correct that? I would first need to get the cam right for a standardized camera and then see if the optics need to be adjusted, although the thing is so slow, it may not care.
The FED-C, by the way, was quite a find. It came with the nice looking but soft 50mm f2 lens. Cosmetically it is superb, and it was easy to clean the gummied-up shutter mechanism. One of the curtains is dried out, and I had bought a new set just in case, but the shutter works well and is completely light tight, so for now I will leave well enough alone. From the serial number, in the 173K range, it would have been made just before the Germans overran the factory in 1941. It comes with a beautifully-made leather case, much better than anything I have ever seen for any Russian camera.
Cheers,
Dez
