Fed 2 + I-61= Gorgeous color

I got my first roll from my Fed 2 developed last night. It was just a test roll, so nothing important, but I was stunned with color reproduction and contrast with just Fuji Superia 400 and Wallgreen's processing and scanning. My wife has been a bit skeptical about my move to film but she said she loves this camera and lens. That means a lot!

Here's some of the test roll. I didn't change anything in software.

doesn't surprise me at all.
i run a fed-2 with i-61 and i-26. a well-running fed with a solid industar is some good kit.

The I-61 is a fantastic lens. Almost on par with my Konica Hexanon SLR lenses. Always use it for color work on my FSUs. Not bad for B/W either; give it run with FP4 or Fomapan 100.

If it is true today what I heard a few years ago from a FUJI Film representive. and things could not have change that much in two years. And this is a direct quote "todays films have a wider color spectrum (guanlet- Spelling?) then the best Digital Cameras of today, In other words film captures more colors and does it better than DIgital and probably always will. But most people dont know this fact -Kievman

YO! your Right on "Target" with the colors. I know how they light their stores, so how did you set your speed and aperture. what kind of film did you use? I'm trying to get the hang of the "sunny 16", but every thing seems to come out too lite, or too dark.:bang:

I just picked up an I-61 LD and put it on my Bessa R. Shot a roll of Kodak Gold 200, my usual test film. Wow, was I impressed with this lens. I'd have to say it's a better color lens than my Canon 50mm 1.8. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do with a roll of Fuji Pro.

I was using Fuji Superia 400 and got my exposure values from the Lightmeter app on my iPhone. It seems to be pretty accurate.

I took some more with this kit at The Museum of Aviation and loved the colors there, too. You can see those in my gallery if you want.

What are the differences between an Industar 61 and an Industar 22? I believe they are both 50mm lenses.

Both are Tessar design, but that is where the similarity ends.
