My FED 2 suffers from a light leak which seems to be solved by placing a strip of electrical tape on the back, over the top joint where the removable back meets the top housing.
I think I have read on this forum that at least some zorkis are supposed to have a string seal around the back. My FED 2 does not have this, but perhaps it's not supposed to.? Should I try adding a seal, or should I try to mess with the clamps which hold the back on, to get them to suck the back up tighter?

Welcome to this forum buxton. The FED2 does not have any seals. Not there anyway. If the joint lets through light you can only do two things: bend the metal somewhere or add some material. In case of the FED2 the top part does not have too much space to add material but it should be possible.
On my M2 I had a strange light leak at the top of the back door. I got self-adhesive black felt that I cut to size and fit it between the leaking parts. Works perfectly. This method is the least destructive one.
I also added a little of this material to the bottom of my MC meter to prevent it from scratching, but that's another topic.

cheers, Rob.
