Hello all,

I have a late model FED 2. It's the kind where the centre of the shutter speed selector dial does not rotate; you lift the outer part of the dial and rotate that around the centre.

Recently the detents no longer align with the speed markings; the detents are "ahead" or further anti-clockwise of the markings. I think the speeds are still next to the detentd though, so its not wildly wrong, just misaligned.

Any ideas on how to correct it?

Thanks all.

Or it could be the screw that holds the whole thing in alignment from under the top cover has come loose. That happened to mine a while ago when I dropped it. I thought something may have snapped, but it was just a matter of re-tightening the set screw in the right position.

Note that the screws hold the speed dial in place can be very soft. Use a proper screw driver to avoid stripping them.

My Canon IIF is the same way. The only way I can identify where the speeds are is to locate the big gap between 500 and B and then count from there.
