Fed 2 vertical alignment

I'm pretty sure the horizontal alignment and focusing is fine on my Fed2, but we'll see after the roll of film is finished. I was looking through the viewfinder and realised the vertical alignment was knocked out of place.

Is there a quick fix to get that back nicely? I'm not sure if it was my fault fiddling with the rf patch's window. It felt a bit loose and i rotated the circle tighter - i can't see it making any difference though.

Any idea's which screw is for vertical happiness? If it meants opening the damn thing up then I'll leave it, but if its merely a front screw I'll give it a go 🙂

Oops I also meant to say if it involved re-setting the whole focus (infinity, close distances) then its way outta my depth for now! I've looked at the sticky for Fed2 adjustment and my brain melted... think I should leave it to Oleg?

It's so easy. The rf window on the left is a prism, if the bezel is removed the prism can be rotated to adjust the image...small amounts! If yours was a little loose, it could have rotated when the bezel was tightened.
Just a note: large rotations of the vertical adjustment will affect the horizontal as well, so easy does it, and vertical first.

I should add, the prism is set into a brass threaded insert. This is removed when the top is removed, but is left alone when adjusting the prism, which is just pressed into this brass fitting (sometimes a dab of paint/nail varnish is seen holding it in place).

Thanks for the help. I might try it, and see whether I can get away without damaging horizontal alignment

If you are returning it to where it was, it will have no effect the horizontal alignment. (which is adjusted by a fine screw under the centre screw on the front face of the top of the camera). All very easy, you will end up doing it to all your FSU RF cams.
