Hi,

I have started using my FED 2 (after cleaning and repairing)... it is the first time i use a RF camera and I wonder if what i see in the viewfinder is exactly what i will get on the film...

Compared to my Nikon FM, i see much less on the viewfinder...
is it coz the viewfinder of the FED is simply showing less? or with a RF also the size of the lens change? (like with a DSLR DX)

Sorry for the probably stupid question :D

Thanks:)

P.s.
is it better a Zorki 1c (export) or a Zorki 1d? or are they almost the same?

The viewfinder on an RF is always a compromise and will not show exact framing. The FED 2 does not have parallax correction either, so it cannot reflect true framing for all distances.

An SLR is capable of showing exactly what will be on film, an RF is an estimate. Hence why you see less, to improve the chances that what's in the VF will appear on the film.

For the choice of Zorkis, condition is more important. I've seen opinions that the export model was made to a better standard but the "standard" one is usually quite well made.
