Fed 3 puzzle on a bag

When I started my love for rangefinders, I bought some FSU cameras, a Zorki 4 , a Fed 2, a Kiev 4 and finally a Fed 3.
Cant remember why, but I disassembled the Fed 3 to the bone and left it on a bag. I guess I lost myself or the interest on its repair.
10 years have gone by and now I wanna fix it and re-assemble.

Are there any good very detailed tutorials online? After 10 years cant count on my memory...

Yes, where are. Did you google it already?

One search return you might not get is in Russian.
Person who repairs those a lot,
wrote what for fed-3 you need your nerves to be made from steel.
I have second generation of FED-3 which I was able to disassemble and
reassemble within one hour.
I did it ten or so times. Still don't know why I'm getting exposures with two parts.
Something touches something....

Got here so far, shutter seems operational, but I have doubts on what screw show I use on the copper part that has the notches for speeds... Can anyone help? It goes through the center pivot, is it one long screw or two small ones on each side?

On all of the other fed 1 and zorki 1 cameras I’ve taken apart it’s been a long screw.

How about the position, the copper part could be on one position or 180º from it, since it has a hole for the screw on both sides... how do I know the correct position with the shutter un-cocked?

I’m not sure about the position of that part, I’ve found that the screw you’re missing can only be screwed in correctly in one direction, if it’s the wrong direction it won’t go in fully or will get very tight.

I just looked on the fedka site http://jay.fedka.com/index_files/Page466.htm and he mentions some zorkis use two screws for that part, so I guess that’s is also a possibility in your case.

Be it one or two screws, I could not find any that fit on the bag of parts... I will try to find them at my father house today, if not I need to improvise 🙁
If I cant find it, would anyone on this magnificent forum have some spare parts that could sell one of those to me? 🙂

Thanks João, meanwhile I did manage to finish the camera and all speeds are working well - yeah!

Had some trouble because the slow speed lever had to be adjusted, it as blocking the speed selector lever, but all is good now.

The camera is back in business, but the self timer works but not like it should and I also got this part left out because I could not find where it would fit:



Maybe someone can help me out....

And... first roll of film I also had trouble, it looks like the film pressure plate is making too much force, and the film advance sprockets start cutting the film. I am trying to get the film pressure plate spring more loose... (any help on this subject would also be highly appreciated)..

As you can see, I am getting frame overlap, and a part of the film actually got broken.
