Hi,I'm new to this forum, but I have e a few rangefinders.I have just acquired a FED3, but on speeds slower than 1/250 it has a second curtain lag. Is there anything I can do to rectify this problem. Thanks.

Nothing new it is FSU.
It needs complete CLA. Soviet grease become gunk. Total disassembly required. Done it several times with Zorki. FED-3 is much worse due to FSU idiotic slow escarpment mechanism and its placement.

Does the Fed3 have slow speeds? I need to go check mine again.

Which FED 3 do you have?
The First, or "A' model looked like the Fed 2, the "B" model looks like the 4 or 5, in its geometry.
Check out FSU posts and see if you can find a repair person you like, who will not charge you the same rate as a Leica repair.

Unfortunately those who charge for Leica repair won't touch FSU with ten feet pole.

Thanks for your answers, it is a Fed 3 B. I will probably, just keep it on the shelf as it will cost much more to repair than it is worth.I will keep on using my Zorki 4.

In your shoes I'd get it repaired. It won't cost the earth if you go to Oleg who is not so much a Leica technician as a FED/Zorki enthusiast and he has the parts and knowledge. He's also a fellow member of these forums and you'll find posts by him if you look.
