Hello!
I am currently servicing a Nikon S, and I was wondering if anyone out there knew what the curtain travel time spec is for this camera? The repair manual does not say. I have the curtains synchronized at 1/500th with a curtain travel time of 27ms and around 1/300th of actual exposure time. For this project, I have replaced the shutter curtains with Titanium Curtains from a donor Nikon F. I'm assuming these need more tension to have a faster curtain travel time, but just wanted to check before I go changing things.
The shutter is also showing signs of curtain bounce when the 2nd curtain completes its journey across the film plane. Is there a way to adjust curtain bounce on the Nikon S?
