FED 5 "C" or "S" New from factory for you !

Thanks Roman and Rick,

Yep, it's me allright, I couldn't resist turning myself into an avatar 😀

You simply got to love the Fed 5 series (5, 5b and 5C) these things simply keep on going. They can be had very very cheaply. I even saw some great variations with red leather, green leather.... it might even be a good idea to redo one of my own 5B's with this ;-)

As for the smell.... well.... eh... consider it to be character, after a while you'll love it. 😀

As for your wallet..... the next Fotografica Fair in the Netherlands is coming up (Utrecht) the big international one..... so.... My wallet will be empty soon 😛

It's you, TomT ...

Your website got me started on this FSU thing
which led me back into rangefinders and this
forum. I thank you, but I'm not sure that my
wallet agrees with me. 🙄

Nice to see you in this group.

Rick

BTW, I have a FED 5 with an engraved inscription in cyrillic on the back - I always though it would mean something like 'To the great hero of the working class tovarich ivan, for fulfilling the last 5 year plan' - when in reality somebody translated it as something like 'To my beloved husband for our anniversary'...
And another interesting fact: the FED 5 is the only Russian LTM mount rangefinder that also came in a black version straight from the factory (ALL other black FEDs, Zorkis, and also Kievs are after-market modifications).
