The Peaceful Pacific
Hi All,
Is anyone using the Fed-50/3.5 Elmar type COLLAPSIBLE lens on
a Bessa R?
I've read that a few of our members here do, BUT...
that is a big BUT. An innovative way of keeping the central, collapsible
column away from the Bessa R's shutter curtains, must be found.
One member here, used 2 O-rings... the kind that one might buy in auto
parts or machine shops. I wonder about the ends of spring steel,
scratching the highly polished surface of the collapsible column?
I have another idea. Cut a narrow strip of leather, 4mm wide, and long
enough to go around the central, polished, sliding column of the 50/3.5.
Put in a stitch or two with strong black thread, and carefully put a bit of
epoxy over the stitched ends. I would NOT use super glue, because
this substance has a way of spreading or bleeding into places, you DON'T
want it to go 😱
Comments, ideas, feedback... very welcome.
Ciao, mike
