Fed Micron giving me the red flag?

I've bought a Micron, and if I set it to A the red flag comes up and blocks the shutter whatever light conditions I try it in - does it need film in to work, or is it screwdriver time? If the latter, anyone got any hints?

Yuri (Fedka) reckons the cell is shot. Ah well, manual only it is!

Bought one to learn cell is shot. I read Konica C35 which inspired this FED also suffers from bad cell syndrome.
