I seem to come to you only with problems. I swear that I do have some lovely shooters in my small FSU cache of a dozen or so....It's just that sometimes, my purchases on thE bay don't quite work as well as I was led to expect........(which is partly why I have so many of course. Well, that and the look of amazement  on my wife's face when another arrives)
A problem that I have with more than one FED (2c & 3b) is when one "skips" a frame when winding on. It winds two frames. I can see when it happens, the shutter button doesn't always return to its normal position. It looks like it can be related to some particular speeds. The peg on the bottom of the film transport roller (the toothed one) which engages with the peg on the bottom cog comes to rest after a shot is fired, on the top of the other instead of behind it. When wound on it must make the long journey of one full turn before it gets behind the peg in order to actually push it for another revolution. If seen it is easily sorted by just giving the speed selector a partial twist, this drops the peg in the correct position.
does anyone have experience with this problem?

Mine did that, and I never got a chance to fix it--it just stopped doing that. I gave it a little cleaning as GHM suggested, and maybe I'm a little careful about not winding on too tightly (extra tension on winding seemed to cause the pegs to land on top of each other).
