I was always afraid this day would come. Lomography is offering Zorki 4 and Fed2 (fed2 for 135 euros 😱 ). Fed 2 is my favourite FSU camera and so far was always easy to find on ebay for 20 bucks. I wonder if this is going to drive prices higher, hope it won't become a too popular lomo-offering, and stay a well kept russian secret. 😉

Yashica GSN has gone through this shameful experience, too. Haven't watched now, but after some week it went.
Does it mean lomobusiness want to expand or they are on low breathe and are looking for alternative ways to keep hype on ?

I guess the LCA is reaching saturation or supply problems, so they're looking for another way to prop up the rip-off. I really find it sad that any of the "proper" FSUs could become associated with this bizarre cult.

Recently I saw a FED 4 on Ebay, described as a LOMO FED 4 with the usual rubbishy L@@K LOMOGRAPHY in the description. Offered at half the "usual retail price of £99.99" too - a mere £49.99. I paid about £10 for mine, not THAT long ago!

I can understand the concern about the rip off, but congratulate the LOMO users for helping to keep film alive for while longer, even if it is a high price to pay.

Why do these boneheads have to take a basic entry level rangefinder that anyone can afford and a lot of us own ... and try to turn it into something it's not. Sure they're an enigmatic camera and at $20.00 to $40.00 great fun and a valuable but inexpensive learning tool.

If these fools push the prices up with their 'hip' marketing strategies it will be a tragedy! 😡

I haven't seen a $20.00 Fed 2......I have been looking. I just bought one with a nice I26 for $43.00. Same situation with a Zorki 4.

those prices are not so high - but if they are really refurbished cameras. of course i dont like when prices go up like that, but maybe people will start to respect fsu cameras more.

It's quite irritating. They already offered Fed 5's for fantastic prices and it did not cause a catastrophic rise in prices....yet.
It's a rip off for those who put too much trust in the info Lomo offers and who don't browse through the net fro themseleves

I think its great on one hand, that they are promoting the use of film. On the other, its just their business, they found a bunch of "followers" to their religion and are squeezing them for money. look at this!!! russian deadstock, nowhere to be found! get your fed2 now before its too late, only 169.99. next thing, they will probably be selling leica M3. as a the ultimate lomo-leica.

So let them take shots with a meterless camera, guessing at the settings, develop the film in... umm.. bicarbonate of soda and fix in... let's say, Coca Cola -- and there you go, the same results you'd get with a lomo. (Probably) As has been said above, who cares as long as we get people coming back to film?

Some time ago in local fleamarket where I went to look for coiled spring (Electro needs one) and spotted beaten and dirty LCA. Hey, I have never seen one in real life. Yeah, it's small. How much, you said ? $60 equivalent. Holy Frame, I'm not tourist! You even don't know if it works, that piece needs batteries, do you know this? You don't. You just believe someone pays (and not $5) for it just because tourists always ask for "some nice LCA".

That's how myths spread.
