fed2 winder problem

I recently bought a fed2 in need of cla for the classifieds for next to nothing. I've stripped cleaned and lubes it all up and the shutter is now working lovely... But the winder system has no stop when you wind on to the next frame. If you stop winding then the speed dial ceases to turn it works fine, but you can over wind it and jam the shutter if not careful. So what have i Mis aligned or broken during reassembly? I may have over tightened the wind knob when refitting, could this have damaged anything?

Nothing broke apart, missing, bended or thread is damaged?
If not, it is most likely the misalignment.
Did you marked positions of top shutter wheel parts before disassembly?
I always do with my phone camera.
Two things comes to my mind. Is how you re-installed the shutter assembly.
If you removed it.
And if arrow on shutter speed selector goes inside of the sector inner part which swings on long axle and tensioned by the wire.
I can't find assemble instructions for FED-2 in English.
But Jay Fedka Zorki Survival instructions shows and explains almost the same.

It's a DTP nightmare, with almost no images next to their referring text, but it's still probably the most important piece of service literature on FSU cameras.

One of the things to check is why the gear set of the main drum is not blocking up at the end of the wind stroke. There should be a stop there.

I think a likely explanation is that you reassembled the restrictor gear incorrectly. It sits below the curtain drum in the bottom of the camera. The purpose of the gear is to allow the shutter to be wound only by the correct amount, at which point there is a pin that stops any further winding. If you have meshed it incorrectly, it will not do its job.

It's easier to see how it works than to try and put it into words!
