Hi -

I'm new here, and looking for ways to expand my capabilities (which, I admit, are currently limited).

Has anyone done one of the PPSOP classes? I'm thinking about enrolling in Understanding Exposure, and I am looking for feedback.

What is the time commitment per week?

Thanks,

Matt.

Thanks - are you saying then that I'd be better off working on my own (maybe getting the Understanding Exposure book), building confidence, then posting photos onto a site like this for feedback?

That would be a better use of my time / money?

IMO you need to talk to people in real life.

if you want to get better, you have to talk about it. you cant just grind away and hope to get better. it's not just photography that follows this btw.

get some people in your area who arent flaky and set something up. photo walks, critiques, shared dark room time. talk about EVERYTHING.

having the materials in front of you so things can be demonstrated helps immensely.

Well, I live in NJ - so in theory it should not be hard to find folks. It's just balancing hobbies and work/family that needs to be managed.

If anyone else has input on PPSOP and related topics, I'm all ears . . . er . . . eyes?

Ha - yeah - it would appear so. I think I'll pick up the book, keep cranking away, and keep an eye out for a group walk-about.

Maybe Steve Huff will bring a seminar back to NY in the fall?
