Feedback Please

I'm really starting to enjoy shooting with my Rolleicord V. I've run about 7 rolls of film through the camera and developed 4 of the rolls myself (which is very fun).

This morning I drove out to to a decaying/crumbling farmhouse that I've ridden by on my bike for the last 5 years. The Rolleicord seemed like the perfect camera to document this fading piece of history. I used Ilford Delta 400 film and developed it using Ilfosol 3 (7 minutes). I scanned the negative into Lightroom and adjusted the shadows/highlights a bit. I think it came out pretty good but would like to get any additional feedback from some others, especially as it relates to the post-processing that I did.

I love shooting these kind of photos in square format. The only thing I don't like about your photo is the empty foreground. I would like it composed with more sky and less ground.

I agree with Chris, more sky would be good. I may also isolated some part of the house. Perhaps a window or part of the collapsing roof.

Less foreground more sky or actually more going on it the sky area, I like the shot and the tones but then i like wrecked abandoned things.
Do you have some more to show us? .......... please 🙂

Thanks for the feedback guys! I really appreciate it. I'm pretty new to photography, and especially the Rolleicord and B&W, so I appreciate all the comments because they will help me improve! As for the composition, I was a bit undecided. I wanted to get as much of the structure as possible in the frame. The sky was so washed out due to the rising sun so that's why I went with more foreground than sky.

I do have a couple more shots of some of the details of the house so I'll try to post them soon.

Should I post them in this forum or just in my gallery. What's the "protocol" for things like this?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and things like this tend to be quite subjective.

Imho you don't have too much foreground so much as too little space on the sides. That would then give you more sky and still have the foreground that helps make a photo like this.

Good point. The reason there isn't more space on the sides is that I had a bit of an "error" on the developing of this roll. There was what appeared to be an undeveloped (purple colored) area on the right side of just this frame that I had to crop out. My guess is that I didn't agitate enough with the developer.
