I just got back from a trip back home to Utah. Right before I went, I picked up an inexpensive used NEX-3 to try out with my CV 35 1.4. I was expecting it to be hard to control, too slow, too annoying with its weird shutter sound, too clumsy with its lack of eyelevel finder. But as soon as I started using it for the kinds of shooting I love to do, all of those worries melted away.

I am completely gobsmacked by the quality I get from this tiny combination, and I am done lusting after DSLRs (I've been using a borrowed 5D for the past while). It's small, fast, light, the focus peaking works amazingly well, the articulated screen lets me use the camera as if it has a waistlevel finder, and the screen actually gains up in bright light so I can see it in bright Utah sunshine.

I'm completely happy with my choice, and I see no reason to hop to a more modern or upmarket model for a good long while.
