Few new ones from my homeless series

Thank you.

This is the first time I've seen your photos, and i'm impressed by them and the respect and dignity evident.

I look forward to seeing more, here and perhaps in the gallery and/or a critique.

Very nice work Steve.
I checked out you site too ... some beautiful images.
I would never pick the homeless as a subject but you seem to have handled it with style

A really good series Steve. It's great to see someone approaching this subject properly, treating the subjects with respect and telling their stories rather than simply shooting their misery.

I do not have to give them anything for their picture. In fact, this last guy did not want anything from me at all! I gave him a bottle of diet coke and he enjoyed it but for the most part i find they are just happy to be talking with someone. I have run into 1-2 people who were clearly looking for booze money and I offered to buy them food, but they were not interested. I usually do give them a few bucks but it is not so they will let me shoot them. It is to help them along with that day, because for many of these men and women, its tough just getting through the day.

I really have enjoyed meeting this guy, Dan. He was a very interesting guy with a lot to say. I also have run into a couple of others I have already shot and photographed them more.

Thanks for the comments.

Steve

The reason I asked was because I had a run-in with a homeless in Chicago. I walked with him to subway where I bought him food and sat and ate with him outside on the curb. When the food was finished, he proceeded to try to sell me some pot he had in a dirty baggy. I refused and he started to cling to me and pesuade me further - now with a slightly more threatening tone. I promptly walked away with a sour taste in my mouth. I was able to capture this picture though while we were eating. I call it: "hobo"
