There´s not a lot of data by this lens, I´ll continue to post pictures in order to get a decent backlog of photos for future reference.

It is relatively "rare", if we can call it. It is a heavy lens that is very well made. Moviemakers are choosing it for special film making with the Canon 35/1.5 ltm and this 85/1.5 ltm. Prices can exceed $2500.

Canon LTM - Canon 85mm/1.5 LTM
Did you have to do anything special to use ISO2500 and get good results with your M9? For High ISO on the M9 and M Monochrom: fully charged battery, slow 4x Sandisk memory cards. I've found that fast cards can cause banding at high ISO.

Think Different
Looking at Peter Kitchingman's Canon rangefinder lens book, Canon made about 2,200 of this lens (all variations).

The designs are different. The summarex is 7 elements in 5 groups, 1-2-2-1-1 design.

Lens Review: Leica Summarex 85mm f1.5 - Japan Camera Hunter
Ah, the OG King of bokeh, the Leica Summarex 85mm f1.5. Beautifully restored and painted by Kanto Camera, this gorgeous barrel of brass and glass recently made its way to JCH HQ. It is indeed aesthetically pleasing to the eye and bound to precipitate a few double takes but how does this heavy...

The numbers sold ive seen so far are 1336 (web) and 2000 (book). Add to that that a percentage is broken and a percentage is modded for cinema. Now the question remains, how many are left?

I only sold my Canon 85/1.5 because I was tempted by the high sale value of the lens, and the fact that I use more often my Summilux 75mm/1.4.
I kept the Canon 35/1.5.
