I’ve had a BBB-E bag for a gazillion years, and also a non-BBB-E CourierWare bag too. I’d love another BBB-E but their website doesn’t seem to accept orders anymore and I can’t see any contact info. Has anyone heard from them outside their seemingly active blog which seems like an inelegant way of reaching out?

I wonder if this means they were shutting down?

Great – will be interesting to hear what you can suss out. I came across the website recently and found the information hope-inspiring, but inconclusive. What absolutely be interested in getting one.

I have one; it’s a great bag. It is best with one compact body and some lenses, but I also figured a way to configure it to hold 2 Leica Ms with lenses and 1 or 2 spare lenses.

It is very lightly padded. Along with heavy use it might be why my rangefinders need 2-3 yearly calibration.

Yikes, at first glance I read this as "two to three calibrations a year" and thought, oh my, padding is *really* light and Freakscene is *really* using 'em hard. Calibration every two to three years, while comparatively often, is of course much better. Do you think it would fit two Olympus OM-1 with small lenses attached?

Ha, nice. No, they go in every few years, not a few times a year. I just got my two M10Ms back from Leica, actually. They were cleaned in 2023 but have not been adjusted since 2021. I was substantially slowed by COVID from 2020-2022 and also went from just using one camera to having 2 in that period as well, and for a time I had an M11M that I ended up returning.

I assume that you mean an Olympus OM-1 not an OM Systems OM-1? I have never seen or used the digital camera. With the film OMs, they probably would fit, but with just a lens on each body. The additional height and lens size might make it too tight for 2 bodies with lenses and any additional lenses. Suggest also looking at: The Incognito Camera Bag from the same manufacturer but different designer. This one is available in 4 sizes. If you're going to load it up at all, get the shoulder pad for the strap.

I love mine. I have used it at various times to carry (1) Leica IIIF body with lenses, (2) Rolleiflex or (3) Voigtlander Record III with a Sony C3
(4) Nikon N75 with an extra lens--all with accessories. Not all at one time of course.

When traveling with a lot of walking the weight gets to be very important. I switched from a Domke J3 to the BBB-e and don't regret it at all.

Yes, you were right, I was thinking of film OMs ... with lenses like the 35mm f2.8 or 24mm f2.8 they are quite compact, but obviously the "bulge" between body and lensmount makes them bulkier in that dimension than rangefinders ... Thanks a bunch also for the tip with the Incognito Bag, seems like an interesting alternative.

I’ve used mine for an M and two additional lenses and also a XP2 with two additional lenses, it works well. I’d like a second for general use including for a Zf with two additional lenses. I haven’t tried two Ms with one additional lens, I should see how that works.

I’ll report back with what I hear.

They are still in business, but my understanding is that the BBB-E features are exclusive to Figital Revolution - especially the unpadded stitched-in dividers. Maybe that will change if Figital Revolution ceases to offer the bag.

If you walk anywhere much with your bag, you want the padded dividers. The lenses I kept in the bag with the unpadded dividers got really beaten up. That's why I recommend the Courierware bags. Crumpler dividers work in the Bare Bones Bag too.

I have both BBB-E and a “normal” CourierWare bag with dividers, and I prefer the BBB-E for most uses. I’ve had the BBB-E for at least fifteen years, and the CW for just a few years less. I prefer the CW for travel but the BBB-E for working. I have a long history with unpadded Domkes which probably drives this.

Maybe similar:

I have both sizes and prefer the smaller one. It’s great for rangefinders kits. Or smaller digital cameras like Fujifilm X-E* series.
