I see these advertised as 35-135mm but they are marked 50-135mm. Since the outer part will collapse approx 1/4 inch from the 50mm mark inward can it be used with the 35mm f/3.5 Summaron without causing vignetting?

No, but it can (allegedly) be used on the 35/3.5 Elmar without vignetting.
The front element in larger on the Summaron than the Elmar. I guess that's why you need the original Summaron hood.

I might be imagining things here, but I'm pretty sure that I have seen one marked for the 35mm elmar... Mine is only marked 50-135mm though. Cool hoods & definitely up there with the best $$ for value leitz accessory.

There is a 35mm Elmar hoods as well as Summaron hood but they are a bit overpriced in my opinion.
But I will buy one since I don't like shooting without a hood.

Yeah, I doubt you could get away with a FIKUS on a Summaron. On a 35mm Elmar, yes, I've tested that myself, as I also find the FLQOO and FOOKH hoods ridiculously overpriced.

Yes, some FIKUS hoods were engraved for the 35mm Elmar.
