FILCA/IXMOO repair possible?

Hello,

Long-shot here, but I'm wondering if FILCA/IXMOO cassettes can be repaired? In the photo below, unfortunately the metal tab-thing that "locks" the cassettes has broken off 🙁 🙁 (Tape doesn't fix it, by the way)

Has anyone had one repaired, or done it him/herself? With the recent popularity and price increase in these, I wouldn't mind spending a little bit of money to have it working again. Leica Japan said NO, which isn't surprising.

Someone must have one with a missing spool, and the two can be merged...

Still can be used, just be careful handling it so that it doesn't accidentally open . I've some which are loose, and doesn't lock well.

I see some tape on the IXMOO that you have... I'm thinking out in realtime here... and I'm thinking of using those girls' flat & shiny rubber hair hand to hold it in place. That could work better than tape.

By the way, I have an IXMOO with loose metal tab but its still intact so I have no real need to macgyver it yet. At that time, I thought there was no other way around it other than to make a new tab and rivet it back into the IXMOO canister. But thats too much work to do on a $5 thing. Then again, prices of IXMOO has gone well beyond $20 nowadays.

Surely a loose rivet would be seconds' work to repair?

The other problem has often bothered me; dozens of us must have bits and pieces others need yet can't easily find out. I can't see or justify putting a broken bit with postage etc on ebay but how else can it be done?

Filcas are still not too expensive so I would say replace it but a decent home shop machinist could repair it altho for the time it would take to turn a small stud and peen it into place it is probably not worth it. Joe

I just tested the cassette again with a dummy roll of film and it did work okay. Not perfectly: the tape doesn't provide enough tension to keep the door closed, so I'll need to be careful when handling it to avoid light leaks - probably what tj01 meant.
