Tom A has graced us with his re-re-re- (he bought 500 rolls of AP500, that is commitment) dedication to Tri-X and D76...

That is about as classic as it gets.

What are your classic combos?

HP5 guys? What makes this film the one for you? What EI do you rate it? How do you develop it? What format do you use it for?

TMax Guys? How about you old AGFA guys, what are you doing now?

What are your classics? What works for you, makes you sit down and smile?

Tri-X and Rodnial for me, simply because I like the sombre and dignified look that one can get with it, instead of the emotional and slightly sentimental Tri-X and D76 look.

How do you rate the film when you are shooting? What dilution? How long in the tank?

Actually, I keep it uncertain and I avoid trying to get into any sort of routine when it comes to developing, simply because i want to be open to new possibilities when it comes to 'the look'... What i like is pulling Tri-x so i get as much light on the negative as possible, I use standard times but vary agitation and so on randomly purely by intuition.

I scan greyscale 16bit at 3200 DPI, save the files as tiff and only later edit and process the ones i pick.

Tri-X in HC dil B for 15.5 min. This is for an EI of around 1600. 30s initial agitation with 10s on every other minute. Gives me more shadow detail than Neopan 1600. I'm loving it.

I used D76 for some time, but didn't quite like it. Switched to TMax and use it in combination with Agfa APX 400 for beautiful contrasty negatives, and I've even push-processed it to ISO 1600 with nary a grain.

Not very classic... not like Tri-X and D76 (which I tried), but it should be.

TriX, 35mm, HC-110h with a little Rodinal, EI 250, 11:45 minutes:

I like this one to me it has the classic look of the 60s, even though I took it last week:

There are a lot of classics for me

Mine are/were the following:

trix, d76 1+1 20C 10m 30s or 11m, 5 rolls each time,
agitation 5s/30s (two inversions).

I was happy with it. After reading in Anchell's book about minimun
developer per roll and proper agitation, I'm going to give a try
to 10m, 2 rolls (500ml of diluted developer each one), 10s/60s agitation.
I don't expect miracles, but, if I don't try myself, who will do?

Best,
Pau
