Hello (sorry for my English, I'm learning 🙁 )

I would like to know what are the best conditions to conserve the film (Portra 160NC). I've read in the film box that the temperature recommended for storage is 55ºF /13ºC ... but my fridge have 42ºF/6ºC configurated.

My question is: what do you recommend , storage in my fridge at 42ºF/6ºC or keept the film at room temperature?

Thank you.

I keep all my film stored in the freezer/refrigerator. This depends on how much of the film I have and how much I intend to use. I keep a few rolls next to the camera. Unthawing the film takes about 30 minutes. Film can be frozen & thawed continually without damage. I have the film stored in the plastic containers and separated in Ziploc bags by color and speed and size. If you google the net you will get more detailed info.

For decades, 20 rolls frozen, 2 in the frig at any temp. Put in your trouser pocket to warm before letting air get to it if you in a hurry.

My storage method is similar to Steve Bellayr's - sorted by type, ziplock bags and then into a sealed plastic storage containers, stored in freezer for long-term storage. I keep several of the shorted dated rolls in the same condition in my vegetable drawer of refrigerator. When I know I am going to use some of the film I let it thaw overnight on my kitchen counter.
