Film Ferrania releasing new BW 35mm Film

Looks like what I was hoping for, glad I ordered some. Thanks, Chris, for posting the processing method.

Yes I see a use for this film, I ran some Ilford Delta 100 in the same tank as a reference and they were spot on so the "look" is the "look" not the developing.
On that to avoid confusion my reduced agitation regime is continuous for 1st min then three inversions at 3,6 and 9 mins, 12 min total, I find it controls the grain, or a least I have that belief shall we say and 1:60 is H dilution tweaked so I can measure 25ml for the 5 reel tank of 1500ml ( although I will go to 1:50 (30mls) if 5 filled reels are in as 25mls is on the edge of minimum requirement for 5 films, with no densitometer I don't see a difference

My order arrivd today! Not shot anything yet. I'm hoping for data on a few more developers . I'd want to use either DDX or Ilfosol 3. Anyone tried either of these.

How long from when your credit card was charged to the arrival of the film?

Those samples look gorgeous. Is this look hard to get with other films? Honestly, I don't have much experience at all with black and white film apart from the occasional roll of Delta 400 or HP5.

I wasn't a backer as I'd not heard of the plans until late last year. I ordered not long after Ferrania got their shop back online.

Argh... I AM a backer and still no film (they said backers would be first to get the film). I guess there is a bit of confusion at Ferrania about this P30 sale thing.

Which is fine with me since that means they are probably busy with other, more important, things...

I hope they are busy with the slide film. How long is this now going on? My freezer is slowly getting empty.

I really hope they are serious about the slides. There are already dozens of b&w film available but just fuji for slides (the rollei is so bad I don't even think about that as film). And with 400x at €16.50 for a 120 roll that isn't an alternative either.

This is a bracket on P30alpha batch 17.001

Nikon F6 set at 80 iso, these are the brackets in 1/3rd stop so: -2.0,-1.3,-0.7 then +0.7,+1.3 and +2 stops
They run all at f5.6 from 500th down to 30th, 125th was "correct" speed and is not in the bracket and I thought was about half a stop under to my eye, I may have fooled the meter with that bit of sky I had no hand held meter with me.
Developer was Pyrocat HD 15mins Semi stand 1:1:100 with pre-soak 70F scan on V850
Lens was Nikkor 50mm f1.2 Ai

Feeling the same burn. Not happy with this.

Nice Chris.

The +1.3 looks like the best exposure to me. Did you use matrix metering and was the 50 1.2 lens set in the custom lens menu?
I find the matrix metering in my F6 underexposes whenever there is a little bit of sky in the image.

Yes matrix, yes entered as a manual lens, will be posting some to flickr in the next few days with the Meta Data (Meta35) :) seem to have that working.
The centre exposure when scanned needs a 0.5 stop increase to look reasonable and as it's a jpeg I don't like pushing more which it needs, I think a stop but agree its the metering. On the roll a few frames are under some spot on, generally under, the F100 was more consistent. I have another roll loaded in an M2 undergoing sunny sixteen exposure, I'll just nail it down when I've no film left!!
I usually shoot C41 colour in the F6 and obviously that gets away with almost anything, I'd certainly be wary of E6 on matrix on the F6, funny my D3 seems happy on matrix, is centre weight better, I'm loath to go spot all that messing about ?

At this rate Kodak will beat them to the punch with their new Ektachrome,
or whatever they plan to call their reintroduced E-6 color transparency film.

That might make Ferrania seem like an also-ran and IMO won't help sales...

Funny you mention the F100 because I too have noticed that the matrix metering seems to be better on my F100 than my F6. And this is with using the latest lenses too - 50 1.8G

Shot (Nikon F2, 50/1.2) and developed first roll (Rodinal 1:50, 8min).

Dreamy...

and/or

sharp...
