I use my local CVS because I'm poor but feel free to add your favorites to photomfa.com, it is my pet project and will hopefully become the ultimate film lab recommendation.

An interesting look is converting negative B&W to Positive slides like the old AGFA process. They don't do any printing only developing and scanning (I scan myself from mounted slides). The look is unique, you might want to give it a try. They are in Denver Co. USA.

DR5-Chrome

here is an example

MP with 50mm Summilux pre-asph Delta 400 shot at 200. When I scanned it I had the mount reversed so this photo is actually a mirror image. I'm on my 6th roll for this process and like it.

My limited experience so far is:
NCPS great processing and good scanning: my choice for B&W
PCV great processing and good scanning: best value for E6 & C41
Dwaynes : good processing, poor scans: best deal for processing only
DR5 : great reversal B&W processing, I have not tried their scans

A & I is fast and good. Mail order cycle is typically less than a week for me.

Taylor is local to me. I have found that they are a fine lab, but I prefer the convenience of the mailman.

Edgar Praus's lab in Rochester, NY does mostly mail order for serious and professional photographers worldwide:

He's who Kodak uses to test. He has bought up multiples of the best processors and darkroom equipment from all out-of-business labs. You won't find a better lab and you talk to either Edgar or the employee working on your project.

In NYC, Manhattan Color Lab on 20th. Steet in Manhattan is the least expensive, and usually will do processing in an hour. Five bucks per roll for processing.

Does anyone know of additional labs in NYC (Queens in particular) that are good?

A&I in L.A., and The Black & White Lab in Prescott, Az. I have had 100% excellent results from both. They're both pro labs in every sense of the word.

I thought it might be useful to start a thread dedicated to labs that members have found to be worthy of recommendation. Here are a few to start, in no particular order:

1. North Coast Photographic Services (US)

http://www.northcoastphoto.com/

2. Precision Camera (US)

http://www.precision-camera.com/landing/

3. Richard Photo Lab (US)

http://www.richardphotolab.com/

If there's interest, maybe this might form a sticky at some point.
Agree but Costco in a pinch.
