Not so new now.
An unintentional test of the longevity of film-AFTER exposure and BEFORE development.
I know that unexposed film, stored properly, will last a long time, maybe indefinitely. I have also read that after exposure, film will deteriorate if it isn't promptly developed.
20 years ago, I took a trip to Japan. I shot maybe 35 rolls of film during my stay, and when I returned to the US, I had it developed in lots of 4-8 rolls at a time.
During this period, we bought a house and moved-so some rolls never got to the developer.
Now that I've re-discovered photography, I scrounged through old negatives and found 2 rolls of C41 color print film, 3 rolls of E6 slide film, and a roll of TriX.
C41 prints were "visible", colors faded and dark, but I could see the picture ok. Not worth keeping, though.
E6 slides are almost transparent-1 roll the lab didn't even bother to mount.
The TriX- it looks like I took the pictures last week, and includes an absolutely wonderful picture of my wife that I am very grateful to have, along with decent street shots of Tokyo near Kabuki-Cho.
Just thought you'd like to know...never give up on TriX!
