Akiva, thanks for posting this. After spending many years immersed in film photography and now 6 or so years into digital, I'm a bit skeptical of some of the ideas put forth in the video. The two that strike me as no longer well-founded are (1) serious photographers use film... snapshooters use digital, and (2) film prints have a 'depth' not found in digital. I know I'm overstating a bit here, but I've seen too much thoughtful, beautiful photography done with digital to cast it in the light put forth in the video.

I think it's just a mind game, you trick yourself to think that you added significance to "the moment" because you used film and consumed materials. The thing is though, if the photo is cr@p it will still be cr@p no matter if you shoot it on gold leaves LOL

Having said that I have great respect for mind games because they are very powerful, so do whatever works best for you.

There's also the practical issue that there are lots of types of cameras that simply havent translated properly to digital yet. For example until we have a pocket full frame rangefinder I'll still want to shoot an Oly XA.
