Hi all --

Just before Christmas my local shop said they found an old, unsold film scanner in the basement of the shop and so I promptly bought it for $100.

It's the Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II (AF - 282OU). It looks good, has some great reviews, etc.

But when I try to install the software CD, it tells me that the "Classic Environment is no longer supported." Does this mean I'm completely out of luck?

I'm trying to get it working on a MacBook Pro, with CS3.

Thanks for any help you might be able to provide.

I know nothing about Macs, but I do know that often you have to use a newer driver than the one that came with the equipment. Try here:

Classic environment means support for Mac OS 9. On earlier OSX Macs running on Motorolas, the classic environment enabled legacy applications. This functionality isn't anymore available Macs based in Intel processors.

Vuescan is supporting your scanner, btw. It is not the most user friendly software on earth, but that's true for all other software I've seen for scanning. It's worth the money.

I wonder if Ed Hamrick (VueScan) understands how much he's done to benefit the film-using photography community?
