Love using LTMs, but usually forget what type/speed film I have loaded-I'm sure because of not shooting enough, and leaving it inside for days or weeks- sometimes because loading more than one camera. I have considered the Lutz K. Leica goodies "Slide", but don't want to buy many, or stick and remove repeatedly. Might consider hanging a small 'luggage tag' kinda thing to the body and stick the end tab from a film box in it. Wonder if anyone here has come up with a simple, convenient, inexpensive solution to this vexing problem.
And, yes, these are bodies that do not have meters, and -therefore- often, no film speed dials.

set the shutter speed dial to the 'sunny sixteen' speed, i.e. matching the film speed. Of course you have to remember to do this each time you put your camera away... maybe as easy to forget as the film speed.

But then again, if you use sunny sixteen metering, chances are that this is the shutter speed you're shooting with anyway...

Only if it is sunny.

In England we use more often the "cloudy 5.6" or even the "bloody cloudy 4" rule. 😀

I cut a piece of the film box at the right size, and slide it in the hotshoe; since I don't use extra viewfinders...
I also have several cameras loaded with various stuff... hmm lots of cameras loaded with lots of stuff in various size would be more exact 😀

In fact I realized I must have at some point ripped apart a couple Ilford canisters to make metal film reminders at the correct size, wheee.

I bought a package of 1/2 X 3/4 stick-on lables at the office supply. Put one on the baseplate and write on it. Slightly more elegant than masking tape - same end result. After the layers build up I peel them all off and wipe with a little 'Goo Gone' to clean things up. 😎
