Film spot issues.

Have a few Ilford FP4 negs that have a spot of emulsion missing, just done 8 rolls of 120 this weekend and have another one.
So how do you guys deal with this issue when printing, so avoiding, preventing black dots on the final print, advice please.
Cheers,
James.

I don't know if there is much you can do about it in the darkroom. I have seen people scratch these off the final print with an xacto blade. Retouching (spotting) the neg might be an option which would leave you with a white spot on the print (much easier to deal with).

Usually these are caused by dust on the film during exposure. Seems very unusual for roll film. More of a problem for large format photographers and maybe 35mm self-wound from bulk. Is your camera clean?

ooo brush and black spotting dye on neg. Use backlight and magnifying glass.

Keep repair small as there will be too much white to correct on the print.
