Hi,

I'll start in july a job in Nicaragua for 12 months.
I don't know if I have there a darkroom or a possibility for scanning.
Normally I use tri-x and rodinal.
But if I can't print or scan the negatives, I don't know what to do...

A minilab is always around, so should I use chromogenetic films like XP2 or BW 400?

What would you?

My equipment are a Leica M2, Rollei 35 and a digital Leica M8.

thx for your opinion!

sincere regards
chris

Will you have access to electricity?

Like Roger says, soup your own Tri-X, but then scan at your room/home base. My Plustek 7600i came with a travel case, and is about the size of a loaf of bread.

Whether you shoot film or digital, you'll probably need a computer...so I can't see a scanner limiting you. Unless, of course, it's a time constraint. In that case, digital makes sense.
