Leica LTM Filter solutions for 5cm Elmar 3.5?

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I dunno. I see a lot of discussion about a non-problem here.
The Barnacks are slow in use - undoing a little thumbscrew takes a second, adjusting the aperture takes another second. It doesn't slow things down much at all.

Wow, I feel lucky. Got four Walz filters, presumably originally for Argus in a leather case for $15. shipped on Ebay. Red, blue, green and yellow all in perfect condition.
They were not identified as 19mm size for Argus or Leica so that's probably why I got them for the price I did. They are out there!:)

Having to remove the filter each time you want to change the aperture is a deal breaker for me. Sounds like right royal PITA actually. 19mm filters would be much more practical.

On the subject of changing the aperture, I spotted this Elmar on the YJ auctions recently and wondered about the little prongs on the inside of the hood. It looks like they're designed so the aperture selector would sit in-between them and you adjust the aperture by rotating the hood. Just a guess though as I didn't win (or bid on) the auction so haven't seen the hood and lens in person. Is anyone using a hood like this? Seems like a much easier way to adjust the aperture (assuming I'm right about how the hood functions).

I use one of those aperture-changing inserts with a FISON hood. I got it a number of years ago; it was a little pricy for what it is, but it works OK. More recently, I got a VALOO hood which is bigger and heavier, mainly to use with a 1932 nickel Elmar that won't work satisfactorily with a FISON hood.
