Greetings to all!

ok, i just picked up the last of the nokton 35 1.4 SCs they had at Fujiya down in tokyo and am terribly happy about it. (cuddling the lens +hood + box now)

Question:

i always shoot with filters for colour.(Nikon L37c) As this is my first SC lens, would a Multi-coated filter (the only kinds they have around here for 43mm) make a difference to the pictures, aka, giving the lens a "coated, modern" look which defeats the purpose of getting the SC version instead?

if so, any non-coated neutral glass filters for 43mm to recommend?

thanks for reading!

regards,
Trevor

Dear Trevor,

I'd be astonished if it made any difference; I have used uncoated, SC and MC filters on SC and uncoated lenses, and apart from the obvious concern of reflecting light sources, it doesn't affect the look of any lens I've ever tried.

Cheers,

R.

Hi Trevor,

congrats !

I recommend to get the best filter you can buy, like a B+W MRC or equivalent Heliopan
or Leitz filter. Then the lens will behave like with no filter. I don't have experience with the 35 but
had both 40 SC and MC.

Roland.
