Filters & Lens Caps Canon IVSB

A couple of questions from a novice in rangefinder land. First is there a souce for filters in the 40mm size required for my 50mm f1.8 Canon lens and second, same for the front 42mm lens cap? I've bought a couple of filters used, but would like new ones, especially in silver finish.

Good luck in finding any. There are supposed to be two firms in Japan selling new 40mm filters, but I have never been able to find any for sale, anywhere.

The easiest route is to find yourself a 40mm to Series VI adaptor ring and then use Series VI filters and accessories. This is what I have done for my 50/1.8 on my Canon 7. I have an Industar-22 on my IVSb and finding filters for that is even more interesting so far... :bang:

Hi,

B&H and Adorama have some new 40mm filters. They are usually special orer items but you will get them eventually.

heliopan makes 40mm filters.
they are too expensive for me so i usually just scour ebay for used ones and hope for the best.
