While my wife was at the grocery this afternoon, my daughter and I browsed around the flea market nearby. I met an 80+ year old man selling camera. One was beat up polaroid land camera. We got into talking, and he showed my his "pride and joy" SLR's - a Nikon EM set with 50 and 100mm Series E lense, and a Canon T50 with a zoom. He also brought out a Minolta SRT200 with 45mm lens.
I said I was more into "older" cameras, so he showed me a Petri 7(?) in reasonably good shape but cloudy lens. Then something else caught my eye ... a Konica III in the original brown case, with strap. That got my attention. I fiddled around with it, the RF was spot on, although the VF could use some cleaning. The 48/2 lens was spotless, with original metal lenscap. The Seikosha MXL shutter worked at fast and slow speeds, but the blades are a bit oily and sluggish (which I of course pointed out to the seller). The body was in decent shape, but the interior was spotless.
To make a long story short, it was the end of the day, and I walked away with the Konica III in my hand... and my wallet $15 lighter. 😀
