Finally a Leica Owner!

Just get onto the evil-bay quickly, then you won't have to jealous anymore, boarini2003 :p

By the way, how many M2 user in here in RRF? Which version do you guys perfer? I'm currently using the latest version of M2 with the timer. But I always think the simplier look of the 1st version with the 'round' re-wind button very tempting.

Some of you have mentioned the M7, oh...no doubt, it is one of the best camera in the world. However, i just can't justify the price of it.

Anyway, here are a few photos that I took with my M2 with 35cron' ASPH yesterday. Any comment are welcome. Enjoy!!

Congratulations and welcome to the Leica owner's GAS Club.

I recommend you convert your Photoshop files to JPEG format before you post them on the web. Many people don't have the software on their computer to open them. :)

Have you added some kind of digital changes? They look to have "super grain". A different kind of look where sharpness is barely visible? :)

yes, i have turned the colour and contrast in PS, also applied a sharpen filter to it.

Here's a shot of mine (with the lens I bought with it) next to its big younger brother... I don't know that I have a preference one way or the other on the rewind button or lever. But I do recall having a related problem years ago with overlapping frames which was traced to the rewind button. The retaining screw had backed out a ways so that I was occasionally contacting the button as I shot. That may be reason to prefer a lever.

Oh Doug, you are poisoning me. I love the RF645. It is one of the best machine in the world i think. It is getting harder to find here in Hong Kong now.

By the way, few more images taken with the M2, please free feel to comment!

Sorry to tease with the Bronica; that shot just came up because I haven't posted it before I think, and it shows the front of the M2 and its rewind button. Also interesting size comparison.

I like the humor in your first shot, with the four guys in four phone booths. And the billboard beyond adds some interesting perspective confusion. :)

I have an M2-R and think it may be the best Leica ever made. It has the M4 takeup system, which is the main difference from a stock M2. The M2-R also seems to have an M4 rangefinder optical system with the M2 frameline mask, also meaning it doesn't have the blueish tint (it's warmer to neutral in color cast) and should not suffer from balsam separation problems.
