And that's no mean feat here in Ireland. All the camera shops I have been to have a really poor selection of used cameras, one could only recommend *bay

Another had 3 used cameras, one was a nice Oly 35 SP (have one already!) 90 euros, and another had a Minolta SRT-101 with 50mm 1.4 lens for 190 euro (about US$230). Ouch!

Anyway, finally one guy recommended this tiny camera repair place, I walked in (only standing room for 2 customers!)

In the display cases was some nice gear, a Yashicamat 124G, some othe MF stuff, 'blad and Bronica etc.
Canon Ae1 with a 1:1.2 lens etc. All manual stuff.

Had a nice chat about rangefinders, he showed me a nice clean Zorki 4 that he let me play with - it felt really solid, with nice really smooth controls. I didn't ask how much it was, I'm trying to resist temptation. Then there was a nice Fed 5 with meter.
No other rangefinders tho... but I did walk out of there with a Pentax SLR (!) a Super ME with SMC 1.4 50mm lens so I'm happy for now...

But I feel the Zorki (or the Fed) calling to me.... heard nice things about Russian glass, but was afraid to buy one off ebay....
now that I've found the place I think I'll be going back soon...

Uh-oh! Sounds like trouble to me... One could presume that gear sold by a repair shop would have been looked over carefully and is working as it should. This could impact your budget!

I like Pentaxes, having a dozen of them including two ME Supers. Very nice little camera, and the 50/1.4 is a great world-class lens. I'll bet you get a lot of good pics from it. :)

Hi Nick, the first thing you want to do is make sure you patronize that shop on a regular basis. There are too few shops like this surviving now and keeping the ones available in business should be a priority. The secong thing should be to buy just one more Pentax, maybe a P3, Super Program, Mx......lol. I know, I have 11 myself. Enjoy your new camera and good luck. Curt.
